Princess and the Sea
Seated on a stone,
Just along the sea,
Wept a little woman
Pretty as could be.
Tears fell into the waters,
Her chin upon her knee,
She cried from deep and sparkling eyes,
This princess, sat upon the sea.
And all about her gathered
Tiny little things,
Fish under the waters,
And birds upon the wing.
They brought gifts to please her,
Flowers, stones, and more,
Hoping to dry her sparkling eyes,
And make her happy, just as before.
The Sea herself arose,
"Why weep you here, my child?
Know you not the whole world waits,
To see when next you'll smile?"
